Brown bears gather near Brooks Falls during the peak Salmon run in July. Bears ranked relatively higher in the “bear society” hierarchy usually keep the most “premium” fishing spots. Bears are naturally solitary animals but in this case are willing to tolerate each other in proximity when there’s a concentration of food source.
